This oil seal is located where the output shafts exit the sides of the differential unit (see photo for location).  Seal fits BOTH left and right sides of differential.

This seal mounts in Case IH 3 Bolt Differential Retainer part number 6578D.

Installation hint: Please check the differential output retainer housing o-rings.  Often they are cracked, crushed, or hardened from age.  When reassembled, they will result in a oil leak.  We also stock this Differential Output Shaft Retainer O-Ring.  This is an inexpensive preventive fix to reduce chance of leakage in the differential output shaft area.
