INSTALLATION  HINT:  Old rubber base gasket can be very difficult to see due to the oil.  Often an awl or pick is required to get the old hardened compressed gasket out of the groove.  If you do not remove the old gasket and place the new gasket on top of it you will have a leak at the base of the oil filter housing.

Please double check you have removed the old gasket from the canister housing groove.
